چکیده

The present study was designed to evaluate the effect of Ovsynch protocol in repeat breeding crossbred Jersey cows. A total of thirty four repeat breeding cross bred Jersey cows were subjected to Ovsynch protocol with timed artificial insemination. The pregnancy rate in Ovsynch protocol was 58.82 per cent where as it was 29.41 per cent in control group. Thus, the Ovsynch protocol can be effectively used to improve the pregnancy rate in repeat breeder cows.

P-64: Strategies to Optimize Reproductive Efficiencyby Regulation of Ovarian Function inyak (Poephagus Grunniens L.)

Background: To design a pre-Ovsynch hormonal strategy in yaks in order to increase the ovulatory response to the first GnRH injection of Ovsynch so that overall synchronization rate to Ovsynch could be improved. Materials and Methods: Non-lactating cyclic yak cows (n=33) were assigned to receive either no treatment before Ovsynch (control) or 0.375mg of PGF2(PreP) followed 2 d later by 10 g of ...

Efficacy of Three Synchronization Protocols on the Pregnancy Rate in Lactating Dairy Crossbred Cows after Fixed Time Artificial Insemination

Background and Objective: Ineffective estrus detection is the foremost limiting factor in the fertility of farmed cattle worldwide. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of three synchronization protocols with Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) on the pregnancy rate of crossbred dairy cows. Methodology: Ninety one cows were assigned to four groups where the Body Condition Score (...

Luteinizing hormone release and reproductive traits in anestrous, estrus-cycling, and ovariectomized cattle after tyrosine supplementation.

The role of rumen-protected L-tyrosine as a nutritional signal altering LH release and other reproductive traits in cattle was studied. In Exp. 1, 28 suckled crossbred cows were assigned randomly to five treatments (0 or 40 g of tyrosine daily in feed for 3 d followed by a single i.v. injection of 200 micrograms of GnRH or 1 mg/kg of naloxone on d 26 +/- 1 postpartum; no tyrosine plus an inject...

Effect of prostaglandin F2 alpha-and gonadotropin releasing hormone-induced luteinizing hormone releases on ovulation and corpus luteum function of beef cows.

Luteinizing hormone (LH) concentrations were measured in suckled beef cows treated during the postpartum period with prostaglandin F2 alpha (5 mg Alfaprostol; PGF2 alpha) and then gonadotropin releasing hormone (100 micrograms Cystorelin 30 h after PGF2 alpha; GnRH). The objective was to determine if PGF2 alpha would cause a release of LH in the absence of progesterone and affect the GnRH-induc...

Norgestomet and gonadotropin-releasing hormone enhance corpus luteum function and fertility of postpartum suckled beef cows.

In Exp. 1,101 suckled beef cows were administered two injections of prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF2 alpha) 11 d apart. Cows in Group 1 received no additional treatment. Cows in Groups 2 and 3 received 250 micrograms of GnRH plus 47-h calf removal. Cows in Group 3 also received a norgestomet ear implant that was inserted 4 d after the first PGF2 alpha injection and left in situ for 8 d. The second ...
